Courses dealing with tv/video production and theatre arts.

In this course, students learn about the various aspects of creating videos, movies, and television programs. Students will work to create unique video projects while learning the basics of good videography, sound, lighting, and editing. Students will have the opportunity to edit their videos using the Apple iMac lab where they will work with such programs as iMovie, Garage Band, Live Type, and Final Cut. Students will also have the opportunity to create a live news show using the television studio.

This course is designed around producing the Panther News Break – a live announcements program. Students in the class are the producers, directors, anchors, and technical operators for the daily news show. Students are also taught how to produce live productions such as the Holiday telethon and live sporting events. Students are also required to create news packages to air on the show as well as creative videos for entertainment.

This course allows students to improve on video and editing skills learned in the introduction course. Students work on projects such as Public Service Announcements, music videos, short films, commercials, etc. Students will hone their editing skills and try new advanced programs such as Final Cut, SoundTrack Pro, and Motion.
